“How does a disease not only affect the sick person,
but also your surroundings?”

It’s about my mom, the cancer, and myself.
Pointing out the things I experienced before, during, and after I had thyroid cancer in 2019, and how this affected the relationship between me and my mom. How important my mother was to me during that time when I had no one else.

I wrote a handwritten letter.
And my mom wrote me a letter back.

In this artwork, exploring the profound bond between my mother and me. Despite the limitations of expression, I've come to value the power of heartfelt writing and its ability to reveal emotions and perspectives.

Reading my mother's letters, I discovered a shared capacity for growth and adaptation, particularly in the aftermath of illness. This project emphasizes the overlooked challenges in the recovery process and the importance of vulnerability in fostering personal development.

The artwork captures the unspoken yet impactful connection between us, celebrating the strength found in vulnerability and shared experiences.
